Josephine Imbimbo, PhD, Executive Director
Jody Imbimbo has served as Executive Director of ReLearning Curve since 2006. She has more than 25 years of experience in the field of research and evaluation and has held key research management positions in public, non-profit, and academic institutions, including the New York City Department of Education, New Visions for Public Schools, and the Center for Human Environments of the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center. Dr. Imbimbo has built mutually beneficial relationships in the educational and non-profit sectors, working with numerous organizations to shape their programs and secure funding. She has also served as an adjunct professor at CUNY and Pace University, teaching Psychology and Urban Planning courses to both high school and undergraduate students. She obtained her PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center in Environmental Psychology with an emphasis on the impact of homelessness on human development. Throughout her career Dr. Imbimbo has been committed to improving conditions for children and youth through her work on education, community development, and health and human services. Mike Karp, Board Chair
Mike Karp recently returned from Sydney, Australia, as a Senior Manager of Business Development in American Express Business Insights, building a data-driven consulting practice for Amex merchants down under. He is currently in the inaugural MBA class of Cornell Tech.
Heather Osterman-Davis, Board Vice Chair
Heather Osterman-Davis is an education consultant and professional coach. She served as a middle school teacher in New York City and an adjunct professor at the University of Austin at Texas. She has also authored three education books and published a case study on organizational communication with Sage Publishing.
Nisha Pherwani, Board Secretary
Nisha Pherwani is a Clinical Director at Cardinal Health, a Fortune 500 healthcare company. She works as a consultant to provide solutions, improve clinical and operational functions, and provide education to hospital staff. She is a board certified oncology pharmacist and specifically focuses in the cancer sector. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and exploring the arts, dance, and theater opportunities in New York City.
Bradford A. Tobin is an attorney, currently working as a bankruptcy and operations specialist at Silver Point Capital, the 2014 Institutional Investor’s top hedge fund, where he co-founded the firm’s philanthropy committee. He has a passion for entrepreneurial ventures and emerging technologies and is constantly looking for the next frontier.
Vimal Vora, Treasurer
Vimal Vora is the director of operations at Tutor.com, the nation’s largest online tutoring service. Over the last 10 years, he has helped some of the world’s largest corporations solve problems and deliver value. His work with Hope Consulting has helped an international bank improve mobile financial services to the poor. He has also been involved in the Money for Good project, analyzing data to understand the motivations and behaviors of individuals and foundations when making donations.
